Jian is an osteopath and myotherapist with a strong interest in helping people manage pain, recover from injury, and improve movement and physical performance. He completed his Diploma of Myotherapy at RMIT in 2019 and graduated with a Master of Osteopathy from Victoria University.

With over seven years of experience working in musculoskeletal care, Jian takes a patient-centred and evidence-informed approach to treatment. He focuses on understanding how physical, lifestyle, and environmental factors influence movement, pain, and functional performance. His goal is to support patients through hands-on treatment, rehabilitation, and education that promotes long-term independence and confidence in movement.

Jian has worked across private practice and performance environments and has experience managing a broad range of presentations, from athletes and active individuals to patients recovering from injury, managing persistent pain, or adapting to long-term musculoskeletal conditions.

He values building collaborative relationships with patients and tailoring management plans to support everyday function, work demands, and physical performance goals.

Outside of clinical practice, Jian enjoys travelling, strength training, swimming, reformer Pilates, mindfulness, and exploring food culture. These interests continue to shape his understanding of movement, recovery, and overall wellbeing

OSTEOPATHY
& MYOTHERAPY

WHAT TO EXPECT

At your appointment, we will begin with a detailed discussion about your presenting concern, general health history, lifestyle factors, and personal goals. This helps build a clear understanding of your condition and how we can work together to support your recovery and long-term physical wellbeing.

Your assessment will include movement and physical examination to help identify which areas of the body may be contributing to your symptoms. This may involve assessing posture, joint mobility, muscle function, and how different regions of the body work together during movement.

Treatment may include a combination of osteopathic and myotherapy techniques depending on your presentation. These may involve manual therapy, joint mobilisation, soft tissue techniques, and rehabilitation strategies aimed at improving movement, reducing discomfort, and supporting functional recovery.

This can be achieved utilising a variety of techniques and tools such as:

  • Soft Tissue Massage

  • Joint Articulation/Mobilisation

  • Myofascial Release Techniques

  • Indirect Techniques (CS, BLT)

  • Muscle Energy Techniques

  • Cupping

  • IASTM Scraping

  • Dry needling

  • Heat therapy and more

Education is a core part of treatment. Understanding how pain works, how the nervous system responds to injury, and how movement patterns influence recovery helps patients feel more confident and in control of their progress. As symptoms improve, treatment often transitions toward strengthening and movement retraining to support long-term resilience and reduce the likelihood of recurrence.

Exercise rehabilitation is tailored to your preferences, lifestyle, and goals. Whether you enjoy gym training, reformer Pilates, yoga, or functional exercise, programs are designed to complement your treatment and

support your recovery. Exercise programs can be delivered through Physitrack

directly to your smartphone, or completed through guided one-on-one sessions

to ensure correct technique and confidence with movement.

Where appropriate, movement assessments using reformer Pilates and functional

training equipment may also be used to help improve movement quality, support

rehabilitation, and assist in developing effective self-management strategies.
